Cruel Beauty Review
Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge is a YA fantasy retelling of the story of Beauty and the Beast, but it also contains a lot of Greek mythology in it as well. I can't really describe how I felt about this book. I only gave it 3/5 stars because I found that I was not enjoying it for most of the story. I didn't like the character, Shade, for most of the novel. I did, however, love the characters of Nyx and Ignifex. I also really loved the Greek mythology aspect of it. I think the main reason I didn't enjoy it was because it gave me so many mixed emotions. I thought it was well written and I liked the overall concept of the story, but just certain small things I didn't like added up and, even though I read it very quickly, I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.
